Groove & Grin are a three-piece British group who play classic hits from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s together with favourite ballads and acoustic numbers. We share a soft spot for a good singalong and a well-poured pint, and we play music that people already know and love.
Editor note: TODO - replace this history with the band's real founding story: when Tom, Roger and Tyrone first played together and where the trio came together.
The line-up
Tom -- Harmonica and congas
Tom plays harmonica and congas, adding melodic hooks and a warm rhythmic pulse to everything Groove & Grin play.
Editor note: TODO - add Tom's own words about how he got into music and what he likes to play.
Roger -- Lead vocals and acoustic guitar
Roger sings lead vocals and plays acoustic guitar. He fronts most of the set and picks a lot of the songs the band knows will get a room singing along.
Editor note: TODO - add Roger's own words about influences, favourite artists and career highlights.
Tyrone -- Fender Jazz bass
Tyrone holds it together on Fender Jazz bass and smiles a lot -- essential in this line-up. Between them, the three of us cover the low end, the top end and every grin in between.
Editor note: TODO - add Tyrone's own words about his bass, favourite grooves and what he most enjoys about playing live.
Alan -- Keyboards
Alan plays keyboards, colouring the trio's arrangements with pads, piano and organ sounds that suit the era of the song.
Editor note: TODO - add Alan's own words about how he came to join the group and what he most enjoys about playing live.
Karl -- Drums
Karl drives the whole thing along on drums, from a gentle brush behind a ballad to a full-tilt groove when the room's up on its feet.
Editor note: TODO - add Karl's own words about how he came to join the group and what he most enjoys about playing live.
